Ding Yi and Hayley Westenra concert opened the prelude to the wonderful harmony “world tour. The 100-minute show, the interpretation of the Chinese and foreign classics, plus violinist Chuan Yun Li to join this Harmony between the Chinese and Western audience in the first day of the holiday spent a wonderful night. After the end of the Beijing debut, the concert will go to Britain, Spain, Italy and the United States during the year for the first round of the world tour.
Classic Beijing
Chinese tenor Ding Yi and New Zealand soprano Hayley Westenra performed at the Great Hall of the People singing both Chinese songs and Western opera arias. The orchestra of the National Ballet of China accompanied the singers under the baton of Irish conductor Derek Gleeson. Award-winning violinist Li Chuanyun plaied with the orchestra. Stage and visuals designed by the italian videoartist Stefano Fake. Ding is considered one of China’s best tenors and is now based in Australia at the Sydney Opera House. Westenra, 26, is a crossover singer whose versatile range includes folk, pop and classical music. The Fake Factory, an Italian studio specializing in Cinematic Arts, created the background visuals and animations. Beijing Performance and Arts Group are presenting the concert named Wonderful Harmony. The company will hold a series of concerts featuring artists from both home and abroad to tour the world under the Wonderful Harmony banner.
